　　We are seeking a full-time Safe House Counselor/Advocate to work with victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other serious crimes in Northumberland County. Hours are generally Monday - Friday, 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

　　Summary

　　The Safe House CounselorsAdvocate provides trauma-informed support services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other serious crimes in our Northumberland County Safe House. This position is full-time, and participates in on-call duties. The Safe House Counselor/Advocate works primarily in Shamokin, PA, but may have hours spent in other offices and other locations within Transitions' service area where service provision is required.

　　Qualifications

　　Required: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field and/or equivalent experience.

　　Must possess excellent communication skills and be computer literate.

　　Upon hire, must complete 80-hour Transitions Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Counselor Training.

　　Must have a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and adequate motor vehicle insurance.

　　Must have Act 34, Act 114, and Act 151 clearances.

　　While not a requirement, bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Transitions offers a salary differential to bilingual employees.
