Akima Data Management is currently seeking Network Installation Technician to join the team and his responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
Job Responsibilities:
Designs, implements, and maintains IT Systems: The Hardware Install Specialist is responsible for designing, deploying, and managing IT systems and networks within the Department of Defense or related agencies. They ensure the seamless operation of critical systems while upholding the utmost confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data.
Configurations and Optimizations: They play a pivotal role in configuring and optimizing IT systems for peak performance. This includes fine-tuning hardware and software components to meet organizational needs efficiently and securely.
User Needs Analysis: The Specialist conducts thorough analyses of user requirements to tailor IT solutions accordingly. They build, modify, install, and rigorously test products to ensure they align with user expectations and operational demands.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance: In the event of errors or malfunctions, the Hardware Install Specialist promptly identifies and troubleshoots issues. They perform both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks to ensure uninterrupted system functionality.
Documentations and Trainings: Additionally, the Specialist is responsible for creating, distributing, and maintaining service manuals and training materials. They provide on-site training to users, empowering them to utilize IT resources effectively.
Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's of Science degree (preferably in Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Telecommunications, or Management Information Systems) preferred, and 3 years of documented experience relevant to this position, OR Alternatively, have 6 years of documented experience relevant to this position.
Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of related DoD IT experience in a Hardware Installation Specialist role.
Minimum of DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification required.
Demonstrate 3 years of experience providing support for VMware ESX/VSphere Virtualization Technologies.
Demonstrate 3 years of experience providing support for Storage Area Network (SAN).
Demonstrate 3 years of experience managing technical documentation to design, test, implement solutions.
Demonstrate 3 years of experience producing documentation for use in configuration, repair and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network operating systems.
Demonstrate 3 years of experience implementing virtual and physical servers.
Demonstrate 3 years of experience with Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions and technologies for virtual and physical environments.
