  Position Overview:

  ServiceNow is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager/Senior Manager in Platform Persistence to lead a team dedicated to the meticulous management of data lifecycle within the ServiceNow ecosystem. This pivotal role focuses on ensuring the efficient stewardship of data within our platform.

  The Platform Persistence team is at the forefront of some of the most impactful projects, offering visibility to the executive leadership. As part of this team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our platform's data architecture and ensuring that data is stored, retrieved, and managed efficiently.

  In addition to traditional data management, this team will have a unique focus on telemetry and data visualization, making a substantial impact on how customer and platform data is utilized and presented.

  Key Responsibilities:

  Lead and mentor a team of talented engineers responsible for the platform persistence layer, emphasizing the importance of delivering highly scalable software with exceptional quality.

  Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to define and implement cutting-edge solutions for data storage and management.

  Develop and maintain data storage strategies that are scalable, efficient, and secure.

  Actively participate in architecture and design discussions to shape the platform's data management capabilities.

  Ensure that data management practices adhere to industry best practices and security standards.

  Monitor performance, address data-related issues, and implement necessary improvements.

  Cultivate effective communication within the team and with customers, encouraging collaboration and mutual understanding.

  Hold a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (a master's degree is preferred).

  Possess at least 6+ years of experience in management/leadership, overseeing a team that delivers highly scalable software.

  Demonstrate proficiency in Java programming with a solid grasp of data structures and algorithms.

  Have expertise in concurrency and parallel programming concepts.

  Possess extensive knowledge of databases, data modeling, and data storage technologies.

  Exhibit a strong background in handling large volumes of data on relational systems within relational databases.

  Show a deep understanding of cloud-based and distributed systems.

  Maintain a working knowledge of JavaScript, which is beneficial for effective collaboration with front-end development teams.

  Familiarity with the ServiceNow platform is a plus.

  Showcase excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and the capability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
