Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conducting regulatory analyses related to air quality matters as driven by theClean Air Act as well as state and local regulations and evolving greenhousegas (GHG) regulations and reporting programs;Preparing air and GHG emissions inventories and emissions calculations;Support the delivery of projects focused on energy transition,decarbonization, net-zero and science-based targets, energy, and carbonreporting, and analytics;Preparing analysis to support carbon and climate change programs,environmental impact assessments, regulatory analysis and permitting, andcompliance solutions;Conducting air quality impact analysis involving dispersion modeling andhealth risk assessment;Developing air quality permit applications under new source review,prevention of significant deterioration, Title V, and state-level regulations;Support decarbonization pathway analyses including developing carbon reductionfeasibility and cost analysis and life cycle analysis modeling for clientprojects, products, and operations;Performing analyses related to air pollution control systems and sourcemonitoring and measurements;Working directly with clients delivering outstanding results, forming valuedrelationships and solving some of their more challenging issues;Maintaining relationships with clients to secure repeat or follow on work;Grow a professional network through which new opportunities or clients mightdevelop; andUnderstanding client needs and developing work scopes with input fromGeosyntec client managers and teams to propose approaches, solutions andresources; and working on teams to prepare competitive proposalshighlighting Geosyntec capabilities and experience.Training: Geosyntec will provide training in OSHA health and safety, firstaid, and CPR training. We also offer professional development opportunitiesincluding in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow ourprofessionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to becomesuccessful consultants.Occasional overnight travel and client site visits should be expected.Your success is our success. Education and Licensure
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in chemicalengineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering or analigned engineering discipline. (required)Advanced degree in engineering. (preferred)Professi nal registration (i.e., P.E.). (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
At least 7 years of consulting or industry experience in air qualitypermitting, compliance and air dispersion modeling; or equivalentcombination of education and experience. (required)Understanding of chemical engineering concepts such as chemical processcalculations and mass transfer. (required)Experience with GHG accounting including Scope 1, 2, and 3 calculations,and science-based target setting. (required)Understanding of the climate change policy and regulatory landscape as well asthe wider Environmental Social Governance (ESG) reporting and disclosurelandscape. (preferred)Familiarity with ESG-related standards and frameworks including the GHG
