General Information
James Madison University, a Division I Member of the
NCAA and Sunbelt Conference, is seeking a Men's Golf Assistant Coach. This position is a full-time, 12-month position with a full comprehensive benefits package. The anticipated start date is upon first availability.
Duties and Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Assistant Men's Golf Coach include but are not limited to: coaching, daily instructions with the team, recruiting, player development, transportation of players to and from practice, facility up-keep, overseeing academics of players, equipment apparel orders and compliance with
NCAA, Sunbelt and
JMU regulations.
Qualifications
Required:
A bachelor's degree.A qualified candidate will possess the skills in teaching course management to student-athletes and helping them on course in tournaments.The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills and will possess initiative and leadership.The ability to guide and support James Madison University student-athletes in their quest for excellence-academically, athletically and socially as they prepare for productive and meaningful lives.The ability to establish a good rapport and effective working relationships with student-athletes, parents, administrators, faculty, staff and the community.Preferred:
Candidates should preferably have previous coaching/playing experience and the ability to recruit high level student-athletes at the Division I level.Conditions of Employment
