UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health is seeking an experienced medical professional to join our podiatry team! Our office is located in Geneva, NY. It is a full-time position, Monday-Friday and typical office hours.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Medical Assistant in Podiatry provides care under the supervision of the Physician. Obtains vital signs and performs x-rays of the foot. Obtains relevant medical information and records it in EMR. The medical assistant also performs front-end clerical operations of the practice including but not limited to reception, scheduling, check-out, and answering phones.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Minimum:
High School Degree or equivalent
Preferred:
Graduate from an accredited school for Medical Assistant.
LICENSE:
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
BLS required through RQI.
Must successfully completed NYS approved course for podiatry x-ray within 6 months of hire.(NYS Podiatry Radiology Course for Unlicensed Persons (nysed.gov) or Radiology Course For Podiatric (unlicensed) Assistants (nyspma.org))
Preferred:
Certification obtained from a Medical Assistant School licensed by New York State preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
Prior experience in a physician office or other medical setting, or completion of accredited school for Medical Assistants.
Must demonstrate assessment skills for both adults and children.
Working knowledge of emergency intervention and available resources.
Preferred:
Prior experience as a Medical Assistant in a Podiatry practice.

Minimum:
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
Computer literacy.

Experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical record
Salary Range: $17.61-$19.22
