Mechanical Design Engineer II (Combustion)
As an Engineer II in the Combustor design group, you will gain expert knowledge of engineering discipline and standards, processes and tools to support our engine programs and Advanced Technology projects. You will be responsible for helping execute combustor analysis and test activities under the moderate supervision of project leaders. You may also be involved in product support and manufacturing challenges under the guidance of technical leaders. In this position, you will be developing and presenting findings to leadership.
Combustion is a center of excellence dedicated to design and support of cutting-edge combustion systems to meet and exceed customer requirements. We are active in a wide variety of activities from manufacturing, analysis both numerically and empirically, design and product support. We are passionate about our role in promoting sustainable aviation via the design of low emission high efficiency solutions. Due to the cross-collaboration required, applicants must work effectively with design teams, global support and chief engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in Combustion analysis and testing (rig / engine)
CFD Analysis (ANSYS Fluent preferred)
Thermal & Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS Workbench preferred)
Assist in Tools and Method Development

YOU MUST HAVE
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
Due to ITAR requirements, must be a US Citizen or Legal U.S. Permanent Resident Alien (Green Card Holder)
WE VALUE
M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 2-4 years of relevant experience
Interest in combustion and gas turbine technology
Advanced Engineering Degrees
Strong communication skills

Effectively operate in a matrix organization
Knowledge of Six Sigma statistical tools and application
Experience working in global teams across time zones
