Description:
Client has opening for a Materials Buyer & Planner. The plan incorporate the duties for both role into one position. General Purpose of the roles - Develop the schedule for production at the highest level which products will be stocked or planned either prior to shipment or prior to assembly for made to order operations. Ensure adequate inventory of materials and supplies at the plant directly or through others to include Purchase for resale (PFR) products. Manage inventories of goods and supplies to ensure plant maintains adequate supply without carrying excessive inventories. Work with plant management to ensure all items are ordered from approved suppliers and meet all Clients specifications and QA requirements.
Materials Planner/Buyer Duties:
• Order and receive all incoming raw materials, packaging materials, supplies and other items as needed
• Maintain adequate inventories of materials and supplies by developing and using a solid working understanding
of plant operational requirements and supplier lead times
• Perform activities that determine quatinties of and delivery schedules of materials
• Ensure and oversee accurate counting and reporting of receipts and inventories into the proper systems
• Complete company standard PO’s f or all purchases and approve invoices f or payment, verif ying inf ormation
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on time deliveries. Provide information to management of any issues
• Manage local supplier relationships to ensure that supplier expectations are understood and performance
against those expectations are measured and monitored on regular basis
• Provide for the management and ordering of PFR items
• Identify plant level supply requirements and provide input to the Procurement Group for prioritization and
sourcing actions
• Implement best practices as appropriate
• Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding
health and safety issues
• Follow all clients good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate
regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Production Scheduling/Planning Duties:
Translate orders into a sequential work schedule
• Analyze production specifications and capacity date and perform mathematical calculations to determine
production processes and tools
• Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to previously established production
sequences and lead times
• Plan sequence of operations
• Communicate with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects
• Expedite operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree in business or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and
education)
• 2 to 5 years of production planning, inventory, materials planning, or related experience
• Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment
