  The Opportunity

  Hyatt seeks a highly motivated strategic insights professional who is passionate about using data and insights to enable informed decision-making, create a better guest experience, and drive innovation.

  In this role, you will help enhance Hyatt’s competitive advantage and drive preference for Hyatt’s portfolio of brands utilizing various sources of information including custom/primary research, syndicated research, and behavioral or transaction-based data assets. You will have an opportunity to use your strong communication and presentation skills to deliver findings and recommendations to business partners across the organization. You will also have an opportunity to enable others to access and utilize internal data through our self-service tool, ThoughtSpot, and increase data fluency across the organization.

  You will be a part of a team that is highly collaborative and passionate about our growing portfolio of brands and work collaboratively with cross-functional partners such as Marketing, Sales, Operations, Digital, World of Hyatt, and Operations.

  The Role

  •Enhance Hyatt’s competitive advantage and drive preference for Hyatt’s portfolio of brands utilizing various sources of information including custom/primary research, syndicated research, and behavioral or transaction-based data assets.

  •Define, align, and manage projects to address key business issues and opportunities with a focus on delivering actionable insights.

  •Source, analyze, and synthesize information to tell a cohesive and actionable story.

  •Work consultatively and collaboratively with key business partners (e.g., Guest Experience Measurement, Marketing, Digital, World of Hyatt, Sales, and Operations).

  •Accelerate knowledge and usage of Hyatt’s self-service analytics platform via training, support, and community building.

  •Strategic Insights supplier management.

  •The ideal candidate demonstrates a commitment to Hyatt’s core values: respect, integrity, humility, empathy, creativity, and fun.

  Qualifications:

  Experience:

  •Bachelor’s degree in marketing, psychology, marketing research, math, computer science, engineering, or related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.

  •Master's degree: While not mandatory, an MBA or a master's degree can be advantageous.

  •5 years of relevant insights and analytics experience, preferably on the client side or a combination of supplier-side and client-side experience.

  •Proficient in survey development.

  •Strong quantitative, analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  •Strong knowledge of database concepts and SQL.

  •Proficient in Tableau, Alteryx, ThoughtSpot preferred.

  •Proficient in Office Tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).

  •Direct experience with analyzing large volumes of data to derive actionable insights and recommendations.

  •Ability to analyze and synthesize data from multiple sources.

  •Proficient in planning and project management.

  •Strong work ethic and personal integrity; self-directed and self-motivated with a highly developed curiosity and willingness to learn and to teach.

  •Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal and influencing skills; ability to define and capture business needs along with articulating strategic implications of analytic results with clarity and persuasiveness in an audience-appropriate manner.

  •The preferred candidate for this role has a passion for travel and hospitality and a drive for results.

  •Role is Chicago-based.
