Summary:
The Manufacturing Design Engineering (MDE) Team has the responsibility for evaluating technologies and identifying supply chain solutions that allow Tech Ops to deliver products to market at scale. Tech Ops Supply Chain seeks a leader in Manufacturing Design Engineer (MDE) to manage a Team of MDEs in the USA who has the capabilities to work under complexity supply chains, manage operational processes and scale operation manufacturing solutions in the region. We are looking for a manager willing to work independently to accomplish bold things.The role of this MDE Manager who is both technically proficient to work with the HW engineering team and Operations teams for AR/VR products, demonstrated experience in operation to bring our design into the mass production. This candidate must have demonstrated leadership and people management roles (tasked to manage managers and ICs). This role requires candidate has technical responsibilities for all secondary process operations post tooling. Specific hardware development and fixture knowledge are required, and the candidate must have demonstrated extreme technical on tooling components and systems, understanding key factors in both the development, process qualification and manufacturing aspects of secondary operations (i.e. metal or plastic CNC machining, welding (laser, Ultrasonic, etc.), glue dispensing, insert molding, sheet metal fabrication, sub-assembly processes, plastic painting, pad/silk printing, CMF (color, material and surface finishing - blasting, polishing, PVD coating or anodization).This role will be the key driver for Tier II technical/process components interface between the Tech Ops Engineering (Quality, Reliability, OPM), Supply Chain, Hardware Engineering (Product Design, Industrial Design) and FATP teams.

Responsible for MIP (Manufacturing & Inspection Plan) document process control and with vendor on our products
Work with management team, set clear expectations and drive product roadmap, resources coverages to MDE Team
Required to travel domestically and internationally to suppliers

BS or MS degree in engineering or related field
People Manager with proven track records leading a team or teams with managers and ICs
10+ years of people management experience working in the Operation field
Experience providing leadership, coaching and helping the team to grow
Knowledgeable in hands-on metal, plastic fabrications and surface finishing related processes
Proven track records partnering closely with cross functional team during NPI
Experienced working in consumer electronics industries and experienced in managing suppliers
Fluently communicating in English
