This Position is for a Maintenance and Repair Technician Job with a company in Jackson.
Job Summary: The Maintenance and Repair Technician performs diagnostic evaluations and repairs of hand tools, hydraulic tools, battery-powered tools, hoists, and hot sticks. This role assists with other tool repair, mobile testing, and administrative branch duties as necessary.
Duties And Responsibilities: Perform inspection and diagnostic evaluation of tools. Identify parts required to repair tools.
Assist in preparing tool repair estimates for customers and placing orders for repair parts. Repair tools and perform quality control tests of repaired items. Buils custom rope products and ground sets. Perform high voltage testing. Enter data into computer system and maintain required documentation. May travel or otherwise assist mobile testing technician teams as required, including: loading and unloading material, conveying material per sales tickets, managing inventory, safely operating equipment, performing high-voltage testing, and maintaining appropriate documentation for billing. Participate in ordering or purchasing standard stock items, such as recommending additions or deletions to standard stock items or ordering replenishments within established procedures and limits. Maintain a positive attitude and practices good interpersonal relations with customers and co-workers
Education and Qualifications: Strong mechanical aptitude required. Background in repairing hydraulic systems or tools required. Background in repairing mechanical, battery, electric, and gas powered tools desired. Knowledge of safety practices. Physical ability to lift heavy items and stand on your feet most of the day. Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision and pay close attention to detail. Strong organizational skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
