The Joint Navigation Warfare Center (JNWC) is a rapidly-growing military organization located on Kirkland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. The JNWC Logistics Specialist – Intermediate supports the provision of resources for a variety of military technology activities including technology demonstrations, military exercise demonstrations, and field exercises. These activities require the procurement and maintenance of a equipment and parts that range from large vehicles that contain sophisticated electronics packages to man-portable systems and equipment. Logistics efforts include the receipt, recording, marking, storage, inventory, packing, transportation or shipping and set-up of equipment. Duties include the movement of equipment to expand storage capacity and the identification and disposal of obsolete equipment. This position is part of a Logistics Team comprised of Government and Contractor staff members
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain equipment inventory that includes identification, location, condition, utility, and certification data
Maintain inventory records that identify equipment, stock numbers, location, condition, and utilization
Maintain accountability by planning and scheduling periodic third-party inventory inspections to verify and validate (V&V) inventory records
Based on utilization analysis, identify equipment that is in excess of needs to nominate it for disposal
Dispose of obsolete equipment using military practices and procedures
Establish and maintain a consumable program that supports the routine maintenance and repair of equipment
Identify bench stock requirements that provides hardware and components for responsive routine maintenance
Analyze bench stock consumption rates to manage quantities and identify re-order points
Establish and maintain a tool control program that is not cumbersome or labor intensive yet enables the rapid identification of assigned or missing tools
Identify tool demand based on variations in mission requirements
Operate vehicle accountability and maintenance program for a small fleet of Government vehicles
Prepare for JNWC field exercises by planning and conducting logistics support
Coordinate with operations and test teams to identify equipment and field support requirements
Conduct an equipment test and condition assessment; perform routine maintenance if required
Pack equipment in preparation for shipment; coordinate shipping support
Required Skills and Experience:
Ability to communicate clearly using oral or written media
Understanding and experience with inventory V&V practices
Understanding and experience with tracking and forecasting consumables
Shipping and receiving of technical equipment
Understanding of vehicle fleet accountability and maintenance
3-5 years’ experience managing medium-to-large inventories of technical equipment
High School diploma or equivalent
US Citizenship and an active DOD Secret required to be considered for the position
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Ability to use web-based military inventory tracking and reporting tools
Experience with RFID inventory management systems
User and skill with consumable tracking and programming software or equivalent inventory management software
Shipping and receiving of military equipment or experience with ISO 9001 processes
Experience maintaining vehicle fleet accountability and maintenance
3-5 years’ experience managing medium-to-large inventories of Government or military equipment
BA/BS degree in management or related field
