Viracon Inc. Function: To efficiently load and unload the Insulating lines according to the proper sequence and provide an inspection of each unit at each end before it is packed and shipped to the customer. Essential Job Responsibilities: Inspect every unit on load and unload end for glass defects such as positive/negative air, debris, sightline and edge quality, chips, flares and overall cleanliness. Loads and unloads glass on and off the Insulating line in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with documented procedures. Inspect area equipment to ensure safe operations. Reads and review area paperwork to verify production requirements. Operate hoist efficiently and safely Understand emergency purging procedures, requirements and conditions. Trained in handling of hazardous materials in conjunction with MSDS and job requirements. Performs duties in accordance with the Business Process Documentation. Participates in Viracon's Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding his/her team's performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvements. Additional Job Responsibilities: Knowledge of the Insulating Departments quality specifications which include, silicone fill quality, negative air checks, cork placement and unit cleanliness at both ends of the Insulating line Communicates with co-workers as required to assure efficient production and to identify possible problems. Meets and monitors all safety requirements and policies for the Insulating production lines. Maintains a positive attitude and provides good communication to the lead and other co-workers. Performs any other reasonable and related tasks assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred but not required. Ability to read and understand work instructions (English). Mathematical skills as related to measurements. Familiar with operating power tools. Ability to take supervision. Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team member. Must be able to safely perform essential job responsibilities. Regular full-time attendance.
