* GENERAL SUMMARY*
The purpose of this job is to unload hazardous chemicals and electronics from customer vehicles and safely package them in the appropriate containers for shipment, in line with standard operating procedures. Provide excellent customer service and educate clients on proper recycling and disposal of hazardous waste. Conduct periodic safety inspections of HHW Center buildings and grounds and report findings to staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides customer services and aids community members in disposing of hazardous items safely.Transfers and sorts hazardous chemicals and electronics safely.Packages, labels, and ships hazardous waste and electronics.Cleans, prepares, and maintains work areas; ensures supplies and personal protective equipment are available.Participates in public events and trainings to educate community members on safe methods for handling and disposing of household hazardous waste.Conducts safety inspection of HHW Center.Performs related work as required.
