The Product Manager manages multiple teams of senior professionals through other senior managers. The job requires a broad and comprehensive understanding of the different systems, theories and practices relevant to a function as well as practical experience of multiple business cycles. In-depth knowledge of the industry and direct competitors' products/services is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/ or area of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to influence a wide range of audiences. The job is likely to be involved in both internal and external negotiations which will have a major impact on the area managed, and possibly on other related areas and organization as a whole. Develops medium- to long-term plans and executes functional strategies for a large/complex country, cluster of countries, or business requiring coordination and integration across units. Provides input into strategic decisions affecting job family or function within a region or business.
Responsibilities:
Manages the interaction between Citi’s corporate clients and industry expert contacts with Citi’s institutional investor clients
Responsible for managing the entire Access Strategies team within their region, recruiting and setting the strategy for the Origination and Execution teams
Works closely with the Director of Research and the Regional Head of Sales to set the client strategy and ensure that the Access is associated with the Research Content being consumed by institutional clients
Maintains direct relationship and regular liaison with CMO management regarding corporate targeting
Works with Legal and Compliance to set the compliance tone for the region
Owns and controls the budgeting process with Business Management
Provides direction to the Origination team with regard to the corporate pitching strategy
Works with sales account captains across equities and fixed income to priorities institutional clients and their access requirements
Keeps abreast of regulatory changes and developing rules such as Mifid2
Assumes management activities such as recruitment, internships, talent development and promotion, with a focus on the Firm’s diversity initiatives
Develops and executes investor targeting strategies for corporations that are covered in Research and/or the Investment Bank
Manages customized due diligence programs for some of the firm’s largest institutional accounts.
Drives definition and strategy of the product offering, ensuring Citi grows its position in the market while defending our platinum relationships
Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval
Enhances product to ensure Citi’s offering is highly competitive in terms of capability and client experience vs competitor products
Owns and leads initiatives to consistently deliver a leading product and service proposition
Participates in the further enhancement and monitoring of the business risk and controls framework
Drives product innovation to i long-term product direction
Maintains industry presence though industry groups, associations and forums
Manages senior client engagement and relationships
Communicates business updates to the wider Investor Services and Markets and Securities business and functional areas
Monitors service indicators to ensure client satisfaction
Functions as an integral member of the functional leadership team within a country/site location, job family, and/or line of business
Works in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure
Builds a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics
Appropriately assesses risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation
Adheres to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services
Adheres to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated
Obtains and maintains all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
15+ years of relevant experience
Internally and externally recognized as a subject matter expert that Proven experience influencing the way things are done, not only internally
Demonstrates a broad and comprehensive understanding of the field
Proven leadership ability in a business, client or operational role
Demonstrated experience in managing change
RFP management and client pitch experience
Commercial and contract management experience
Ability to execute in a large matrixed organization
Education:
