Position Summary
The Distribution Strategy Lead is a dynamic leader in the Go to Market and Market Management organization which aims to unlock market opportunity through the development and deployment of distribution strategies and tools that optimize focus and investment aligned to distribution priorities. The team delivers impactful go-to-market strategies across Group Benefit’s customer segments, offerings, and channels that enable the Group business to achieve its strategic goals.
As a Distribution Strategy Lead, you are accountable for the creation of go-to-market strategies for emerging market segments and channels, and the development of customer segment value propositions and execution roadmaps. You will be responsible for ensuring cross functional alignment to enable the execution of our business plans and drive market leading top and bottom-line growth by identifying capability needs and developing market specific action plans to address gaps. Additionally, you will play a key role and provide input to the annual and multi-year strategic planning process in close collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team focused on identifying distribution priorities and quantifying related benefits. This will include defining and socializing distribution strategic priorities, key initiatives, and multi-year measures of success.
This strategic leader will drive business growth by operating collaboratively in a cross functional and matrixed environment, supporting a full suite of products distributed through inside sales, brokers, general agencies, and other opportunities requiring a strategic view and tailored approach.
You have
Expertise in Group Benefits products, offerings and distribution models
Leadership accountability for developing and implementing overall business strategies and operational efforts including tools, technologies, training, and departmental initiatives
Background in development and management of strategic planning processes, including the quantification and prioritization of initiatives
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to lead while adapting to changing business priorities and environments
Strong executive presence and compelling presentation skills including presentation to senior leadership, as well as field stakeholders
Ability to direct and drive execution across multiple key partner functions in a matrixed environment
Consistent track record of exceptional performance, having delivered quantifiable impact on company revenue
Strong financial and analytical acumen with business experience in a functional area
Bachelor’s degree with a financial focus such as business management, economics, finance etc. Master’s degree preferred.

Lead the development of channel, offering and capability go-to-market strategies across all customer segments to achieve Group Benefits strategic and financial goals and objectives
Contribute to the ongoing development, refinement, and socialization of the Group Benefits distribution strategy, including supporting the annual strategic planning process and preparations for regular leadership meetings
Inform strategic, operational, and investment activities ensuring Guardian’s position as a market leader and enabling future value creation
Work and influence across market segments and functions on value proposition development, required capability identification, and investment prioritization
Work closely with the Group Benefits leadership team to establish business wide imperatives, high priority initiatives, and measures of success
Maintain and refine broker segmentation and align investments to segments that drive the most value
Develop and maintain the business perspective on competitive, industry, and consumer trends

$114,080.00 - $187,415.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
