WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
The Mechanical Engineer Intern position will provide dedicated hardware engineering support for the Supply organization, gaining the widest exposure to all of our business functions that make CPI work! This includes the resolution of production support issues, evaluation of obsolete parts, maintenance and identification/implementation of cost reduction opportunities. The position will require interaction with Engineering and Supply peers as well as external suppliers. Supervision of Associate Engineering technicians and contractors, including prioritization of activities, technical direction and procedural support, is also required.
You will gain exposure to:
Verification of alternate part source opportunities and the identification of cost reduction opportunities. Includes proactive interaction with component manufacturers and local sales representatives.
Analysis and resolution of obsolescence issues, and timely response to end-of-life issues affecting production
Prioritization of activities, technical direction and procedural support. This will include the development of test procedures and detailed documentation of verification activities and design investigations.
Development of detailed product design knowledge. This ongoing responsibility is required to provide timely production support and identify potential cost reduction opportunities.
Proactive production yield analysis and design improvement implementation.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering disciplines
Some exposure to analog/digital circuit design
Schematic Capture experience preferred (Mentor Graphics experience a plus)
