We currently seek an experienced HVAC Technician to join our team.
This is a full-time day-shift position M-F that offers some flexibility to the right candidate. Pay can start at $35 an hour depending on previous experience.
JOB SUMMARY
Facilities HVAC Technician operates and maintains facilities equipment including, but not limited to, building controls, heating-ventilation, and air conditioning. Facilities Tech is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of utility equipment, including Chillers, Boilers, Air Handling Units, Exhaust ventilation, Dehumidifiers, Reheat, Emergency Power Generators, UPS, and Environmental Control systems. Documents all maintenance activities executed on the site computer maintenance management system (CMMS Maximo). The Facilities Tech plans, coordinates, inspects, and performs maintenance and supports project management for facility-related projects, including but not limited to, building remodeling and construction, equipment installation and/or placement, safety and environmental compliance, mechanical systems maintenance, and energy management programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures facility maintenance activities are complete and on schedule.
Participates in facilities equipment installations as required.
Performs minor building and building system equipment repairs.
Maintains spare parts inventory.
Other responsibilities may be assigned and not all responsibilities listed may be assigned.
Conducts preventive maintenance on and repairs chillers, cooling towers, dehumidifiers, air handling units, air compressors, emergency power generators, uninterrupted power systems, fire prevention systems, water treatment systems, and environmental control systems among other utility and production equipment.
Manage and coordinate plant initiatives with outside vendors and repair shops.
Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by the supervisor.
Comply and follow all procedures within the company policy.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Proficient at reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting problems with electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems on commercial HVAC equipment.
Skilled at troubleshooting and repairing refrigeration systems, hot water systems, steam boiler systems, and related commercial equipment.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees at all levels.
Excellent communication and interpersonal relations skills.
Problem solving.
Proficient in the use of all general shop tools and power tools.
Must be able to function in a team environment and as an independent contributor.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Technical Education Diploma preferred
High School Diploma preferred
Generally requires (5 and above) years of related experience
