Job Description
As the Manager of the Engineering team for Governance, Risk, and Compliance, you will lead a team of skilled technical professionals in building and owning the platforms that help Nordstrom stay safe, secure, and well managed. You will bring your knowledge and background to provide technical leadership and help foster a culture of operational excellence while collaborating with program managers, engineers, developers, and all levels of leadership to execute on tactical and strategic goals. The team build and supports a diverse set of platforms, combining traditional on-prem solutions and cloud-based models. The ideal candidate will be a self-directed critical thinker, creative problem solver, and committed team player. Candidates will have an innate drive for continuous process improvement, a passion for operations, and be able to effectively partner cross-functionally and solve complex problems.
What you’ll be doing
Lead the delivery of operations and support services for critical GRC platforms and solutions.
Manage daily team operations, team resource planning, roadmap planning, and delivery.
Drive maturity of our GRC services through measurement and continuous improvement, including workflow optimization, staff performance, customer experience, cost, and time savings metrics.
Serve as technical point of contact, partnering across the organization to provide outstanding customer service, quick issue resolution and timely escalation.
Continuously challenge yourself and your team to learn, develop skills, and understand new technologies.
Manage customer expectations while establishing and maintaining clear accountabilities
Attract, develop, empower, and retain top technical talent.
Communicate effectively with business customers, suppliers, and partners.

Proven team leader that can effectively delegate and prioritize; you are adept in helping your team get better every day by setting clear expectations, providing motivation, quickly resolving issues, and actively managing performance.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in Scrum and Kanban.
Experienced at developing and maintaining effective relationships with customers, stakeholders, and technical leaders.
A strategic mindset coupled with high energy and a positive outlook.
Independent driver and a resourceful problem solver with a passion for continuous improvement.
Experienced at working with security and compliance requirements, standards, and priorities.
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of experience building and/or supporting mission critical services.
Minimum of 3+ years of technical supervisory or management experience.
BS in Computer Science/ Engineering or equivalent education and experience required.
Experience working in a complex and large-scale environment supporting infrastructure and/or security technology.
Understanding of Security & Compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, SOC, NIST, CIS) is a plus.
Leadership skills including coaching, team building, performance management, issue resolution, negotiation, motivating others, forecasting, and planning.
Able to work independently, exercising sound judgment while handling multiple priorities.
Effective written and oral communication with all levels of business and technical leadership.
Strong positive attitude and general awesomeness are a must!

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
CA - $131,000-$236,000 Annually (depending on experience), CO - $131,000 - $201,000 Annually (depending on experience), IL - $131,000 - $203,000 Annually (depending on experience), WA - $131,000-$236,000 Annually (depending on experience)
