Amentum is seeking an innovative experienced Electrical Engineer who is interested in solving emerging and challenging issues in areas of phase unbalanced power distribution systems, microgrid modeling, simulation, and analysis. The ideal candidate will work in a collaborative environment to develop microgrid strategies, initiatives, and advance solutions to replace and upgrade existing, behind-the-meter power systems with clean energy solutions. This position will be remote within the U.S..
Responsibilities
Evaluates the feasibility of installing microgrid systems at new or existing client facilities considering the physical and electrical infrastructure constraints present at each site.
Perform energy assessments, performance microgrid and battery feasibility analysis for the integration of renewable energy systems, including distributed renewable electricity sources, battery energy storage systems, long-duration energy storage, hydrogen fuel cells, hydrogen internal combustion engines, etc..
Produces conceptual designs that can incorporate a variety of energy resources, including geothermal, nuclear, solar and wind and hydrogen renewables to optimize sizing of generation and energy storage capacity.
Performs power system studies to validate equipment ratings and verify reliable operation of microgrids.
Originate and support the development of studies, design documents/drawings, power system analysis, equipment specifications, and other system-related information for feasibility through detailed design project scopes.
Minimum Requirements
Must have obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a 4 year ABET accredited college or university.
A minimum of 10 years of post-graduation professional electrical engineering experience in power engineering with knowledge in microgrid modeling, simulation, and analysis.
Professional Engineer License in Electrical Engineering is required.
Position may require some travel.

Compensation & Benefits
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $110K - $174K (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
