THE ROLE : The Manufacturing Supervisor (Afternoon Shift) will be responsible for managing the production and personnel at the shop floor level and overseeing all daily functions of our new Ally Meter Department. Located at our Uniontown, Pennsylvania manufacturing facility, this role will supervise employees on the 3:00 pm. to 1100 pm. shift, but applicants must be willing and able to work all shifts. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Supervise 20-30 Union employees within their area of responsibility to achieve daily production demands in the most efficient manner possible.
Evaluate each employee regarding Productivity, Attitude and Initiative.
Assure compliance with all company policies and take disciplinary action when required in a fair and equitable manner.
Assure that individual and departmental efficiencies and utilization goals are sustained.
Assure that all Safety and Environmental standards are maintained to the highest level.
Maintain a clean and orderly production area.
Communicate clearly with all levels of management.
Supply production demand data as required by all levels of management.
Maintain accurate performance and attendance information for each employee.
Assure each employee receives proper training regarding Job Performance, Machine Operation, Health, and Safety.
Adhere to all articles and sections of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based on organization needs
QUALIFICATIONS :
Associate degree (bachelor’s preferred) in Business, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Electronics or other relevant manufacturing-related discipline, and at least four years of current experience supervising Union employees performing manufacturing-related duties -or - eight years of current direct experience supervising Union employees performing manufacturing-related duties.
Experience within a manufacturing industry with assembly or electronic assembly processes preferred.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities sufficient to handle all issues associated with supervision.
Interpersonal skills necessary to deal with employee issues and concerns.
Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures and operations.
Working knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Ability to handle confidential information and project assignments.
Working knowledge with electronic assembly processes.
Hands-on experience in ISO, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement philosophies and techniques. Ability to implement LEAN and Safety initiatives as required.
A high level of attention to detail.
Strong computer skills are highly preferred and must include a working knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn BPCS, MMS, KRONOS, Workday, MES (ShopVue), Microsoft Office, and other software/programs necessary to perform this role.

In this role, the working environment is both in office and on the manufacturing floor and the physical demands may include but not limited to sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, and moving about the facility as well as occasionally lifting 25-35 pounds.
