　　How you make a difference

　　The Medical Director oversees all clinical programs, both new and existing, and reviews and schedules any necessary changes or additions,providingrecommendations to the Hospital Administrator. They are involved in the assessment, planning, linkage, monitoring, and advocacy of patients assigned to clinicians in specific departments. The Medical Director also develops and conducts educational programs related to drug and alcohol abuse,participatesin interdisciplinary treatment planning conferences, and ensures the comprehensive delivery of quality mental healthcarein accordance withhospital protocols.

　　Key Responsibilities

　　Supervises psychiatric care and practices,representingthe hospital on committees, projects, and initiatives, reviewing referrals for admission, and liaising with advocates and families.

　　Leads peer reviews, attends court proceedings and multidisciplinary teams, and overseesclinically basedPI and best practice projects, chart reviews, and mortality reviews.

　　Manages physician recruitment and retention, including evaluating clinical competency and performance.

　　Coordinates medical student rotations,providingorientation, lectures, and training.

　　Provides direct psychiatric care to patients, including evaluation, treatment, and psychotherapy, in compliance with state and federal regulations and patient safety protocols, andmaintainsknowledge of nursing services and related policies and procedures.

　　Qualifications & Requirements

　　Education

　　Medical Doctor (MD) or Osteopathic Doctor (DO) from an accredited university.Experience

　　Seven years of professional experience in providing services to persons with psychiatric disabilities, two years of which must have been at the administrative clinical level, assistantdirectoror its equivalent.Licenses/Certifications
