The Epilepsy Center (NAEC level 4) in the Ayer Neuroscience Institute at Hartford Hospital continues to develop our outpatient and inpatient services for people with seizures. Our reputation for providing complex and innovative care to those in need is built on the foundation of excellence in patient care, teaching and research. The team is committed to creating an innovative patient centered delivery system that continuously improves quality care. Job Summary: Oversight of the quality, access, efficiency and financial status of the EEG services in the Hartford Region, utilizing data to guide decision making. This includes day to day operations with oversight and mentorship of EEG Technologists ensuring adequate staff and facility support of the EEG Lab, managing overall budget and revenue cycles, oversee coordination of care with Hartford Region neuroscience services and staff on patient areas. Job Responsibilities: * Contributes to the development of meaningful goals and objectives for the EEG Lab that align with the strategic direction of the Neuroscience Institute programs by analyzing needs and developing recommendations. Communicates the goals and objectives to the staff and monitors progress during the year. * Establishes performance expectations with EEG staff; coaches, develops, and evaluates performance to enable employees to be successful in contributing to the achievement of individual and EEG objectives. Informs and advises superior on hiring and disciplinary actions. * Provides education and career growth of EEG Technologists through H3W behaviors managing individual programs and group education, maintains records of achievements, BLS, R.EEG.T, CEUs and track individual standing in education cohorts to ensure growth of the staff and the program. * Creates and maintains effective, positive customer service relationships by identifying patients and their needs, and ensuring application of H3W leadership behaviors and consistent high-quality customer service. Effectively and continually communicates with the staff, management, and customers to facilitate the flow of information necessary to the success of the employees and, the EEG department. * Uses resources effectively and efficiently to achieve the goals and objectives of the department within established budgets by determining future needs, monitoring actual progress, and allocating resources to meet a changing environment. * Enhances the efficient operation of the unit by establishing priorities, eliminating impediments, and resolving problems in collaboration with our stakeholders in nursing, information technology, the clinic, and elsewhere. * Actively seeks opportunities to model and grow teamwork through collaboration both within and outside the department in support of the organization's objectives, and through mentoring of direct reports. * Assumes responsibility for self-improvement, in collaboration with colleagues, by identifying, communicating and seeking resources or instruction/validation to meet own learning needs, and is self-directed in maintaining currency of validations. * Demonstrates competencies, including knowledge and behaviors, to meet age specific patient needs (e.g. Pediatrics, Adolescents, Geriatrics.). Required § Bachelor’s degree § Minimum 3 years in health care § Experience managing and developing employees’ careers. § Strong communications skills required - both written and verbal § Strong data management and computer skills Preferred § Experience in Neurodiagnostics § Master’s degree We take great care of careers.
