  Description

  The Educational Developer will help lead a major educational transformation project for the Center for Humanizing Innovations in Medical Education (CHIME). Position reports to the Sr. Executive Leader for Education and Transformation.

  JOB DESCRIPTION:

  Educational Development

  Design, develop, implement, and evaluate innovative teaching and learning support activities in collaboration with program stakeholders.

  Promote and enable others to adopt innovative practices (e.g., using artificial intelligence or other technologies in teaching, learning, and research).

  Provide professional development activities to help improve outcomes for learners/faculty/staff (e.g., through advice, consultancy, training, workshops, collaborative working, peer review and assessment).

  Promote the use of experiential learning activities such as small group/peer-based teaching and problem-solving activities.

  Contribute to identifying and implementing ways of measuring the impact of educational initiatives.

  Educational Leadership

  Act as a role model, work independently as well as in teams (physically and distributed) to co-ordinate and manage education project(s).

  Collaborate with colleagues to identify and respond to emergent teaching and learning needs.

  Critically evaluate current pedagogical methodologies and disseminate results as appropriate to programs/disciplines.

  Help establish program evaluation guiding principles that are transparent, clearly described, and shared across all programs.

  Educational Scholarship and Research

  Undertake collaborative research/scholarship, reviews, evaluations, and knowledge sharing to improve practice.

  Consult with faculty, staff, administrators, and learners regarding educational research/scholarship projects.

  Participate in internal and external education and professional development networks to share information and ideas (e.g., conferences/workshops).

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  Masters degree in education or related field and be in the candidacy phase of a terminal degree program in education or a related field.

  Expertise and experience in one of the following areas (e.g., curriculum and cognition, educational psychology, assessment and evaluation, instructional design, adult education, or health sciences education).

  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  PhD, EdD, or equivalent degree in education or a related field and experience in healthcare education is preferred.

  Familiarity with medical/health professions education-related accrediting bodies, compliance, and education processes.

  Expertise and practical experience in curriculum and cognition OR leading/supporting assessment and program evaluation initiatives.

  NOTE: Position tasksaregenerallyrequired tobe performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote workfrom homedayoptions may be grantedatdepartmentdiscretion.Emory reserves the right to changeremote workstatus with notice to employee.
