  Job Description Summary

  As a Director, Infrastructure & Database Engineering for the GE Aerospace Digital Workplace team, in this project based role you will be responsible for working closely with the broader Digital Workplace organization to drive the development and deployment of key productivity, collaboration, and engagement tools across the organization in a seamless, contemporary, and modern way. Working under the leadership of our Software & Architecture Leader, you will design, develop, deploy, and maintain our cloud infrastructure which enable our product portfolio of core Intranet Services, Productivity & Collaboration platforms, BPO tooling, Employee Experience & Engagement platforms, and Document Management solutions. You will be part of a growing, focused team to continually develop this internal product portfolio, delivering increased value to our 60,000+ user base across the world, impacting every employee across the company.

  Job Description

  Essential Responsibilities:

  Own the infrastructure, hosting, and database strategy for the Digital Workplace organization across AWS, Azure, and on-premises solutionsUnderstand business requirements and guide the best landing zone for efficient and effective operationsOversee existing footprint of AWS and Azure applications transferred to GE Aerospace from Corporate as part of GE's proposed separationEnsure workloads meet or exceed cybersecurity and compliance requirements to hold GE Aerospace sensitive dataDesign and deploy workloads in the cloud using an Infrastructure as a Code (e.g., Terraform) first mindset across AWS and AzureDrive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product & technology reuse, and sharing knowledge and skills aligned to business prioritiesDeliver resource strategy and plans, including use of 3rd parties/partners, etc., in support of development and support activitiesCommunicate effectively both within immediate team and GE leadershipEnsure team receives consistent messages and has clear understanding of business direction, strategy, and resultsDemonstrate technical leadership and people management skills including solidcommunication and analytical skills with thorough understanding of product development and successful problem definition, decomposition, estimation and resolutionProvide coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities to Staff placing an emphasis on not only attracting talent but also retaining it

  Basic Qualifications:

  Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 8 years of professional experience OR associate degree with minimum of 11 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 13 years of professional experienceA minimum of 5 years of experience in Cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure)A minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud automation and orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, Nexus, etc.)Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experienceEligibility Requirement for US Candidates:-Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

  Technical Expertise:

  Experience building scalable, globally accessible web applications and platformsDirect experience working with and building applications on Cloud based environments (AWS, Azure, or similar). A prior certification from a cloud provider is a strong plusPrior experience designing and delivering Digital Workplace applications is a strong plusDemonstrated coaching of others in programing/engineering/architecture frameworks or otherUnderstanding of different engineering methodologies and appreciation of when to utilize appropriatelyWell-developed and established analytical and problem skills

  Business and Leadership Expertise:

  Comfortable working with different Agile software development methodologiesAble to develop software for simultaneous, complex projectsAbility to determine how to integrate disparate systems effective to optimize operational processesDemonstrated strong technical and analytical skillsSolid communication skills at all levels of the organizationProactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the teamAbility to evaluate technology to drive features and roadmaps, mapping technology trends to internal vision and strategyAble to effectively communicate drivers behind decisions and continuously reflecting on both success and failures to improve performance and strategyUnderstands when change is needed and actively participates in technical strategy planningAble to navigate accountability in a matrixed organization

  Additional Information:

  The salary range for this position is $150,800-$251,300. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive plan.
