  Job Type: Officer of AdministrationBargaining Unit:Regular/Temporary: RegularEnd Date if Temporary:Hours Per Week: 35Standard Work Schedule:Building:Salary Range: $58,500 - $62,500The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

  Position Summary

  The Columbia Mailman Office of Development and Alumni Relations is dedicated to facilitating relationships that support the School's vision and mission, enabling progress toward a healthy and just world for all.

  Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Institutional Giving and Operations, the Development Associate will play a vital role in assisting Columbia Mailman's fundraising efforts through corporate and foundation prospect research and a wide range of administrative activities that support both corporate and foundation relations as well as operations for the entire Office of Development and Alumni Relations.

  Responsibilities

  Undertake and organize corporate and foundation prospect research and prepare profiles, briefings and other essential background information for the team, faculty, and volunteers. Maintain donor prospect activities within the development CRM database, including logging and updating proposal information and entering contact reports. Manage the CFR cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship calendar noting deadlines, staff responsible, etc.Schedule internal and external meetings with faculty, staff, and donors and take meeting minutes.Maintain, organize and update internal shared files.Assist the Director of Prospect Research and Information Management with compiling necessary research for special events.Provide administrative support as it relates to the operations function of the Development and Alumni Relations team.Perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties as needed.Minimum Qualifications

  Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience required.

  Preferred Qualifications

  At least three years of progressively related experience, preferably in fundraising/development.Two years of experience in administrative support role(s) and/or related experience.Other Requirements

  Type other requirements and/or special indicators if CUIMC.Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with staff and management at all organizational levels.Exceptional organizational skills and attentiveness to detail.Strong analytical/research skills and familiarity with prospect research databases and tools.Demonstrated experience effectively managing multiple and simultaneous projects with overlapping schedules.Demonstrated experience with CRM databases.Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion practices in a workplace environment.
