Job DescriptionAmentum Services Inc is seeking a Crime Gun Intelligence Coordinator Level II to support active contracts in Seattle, WA. The position may require limited CONUS travel.Description:Crime Gun Intelligence Coordinators (CGICs) assist in the entry of evidence, quality control, site management, data analysis, and summarizing reports through ATF's National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) and the National Tracing Center (NTC). CGICs analyze crime gun intelligence for law enforcement agencies, but do not participate in criminal investigations. By utilizing crime gun intelligence, the CGIC assists in identifying armed violent criminals, members of violent gangs and criminal organizations who are involved in shootings, violent criminal activity, or firearms trafficking which ATF and/or its State, local, and tribal partners may investigate.Position Responsibilities:This position requires the ability to apply experience and judgment in selecting procedures to be followed in searching, interpreting, selecting or coding items to be entered from a variety of document sources. Candidate must possess the skill and ability to analyze, summarize, report, and share information. At this level they are not expected to provide liaison support outside the office.Provide analytical and intelligence gathering support to ATF, the assigned field division and CGIC (III).Provide usable crime gun intelligence and in-depth analysis.Provide analytics and research on gun intelligence specific to firearm related violent crime.Provide support with firearm identification to provide accurate data for firearms tracing.Duties shall include all and/or some of the following:Gather crime reportsEnter evidence into Integrated Ballistic Information Systems (IBIS)Perform image and correlation reviews.NIBIN hit analysisCreation of link charts for investigative lead purposesCompile all data necessary to provide ATF with actionable law enforcement investigative leadsGather gun traces for entry into e-TraceEnter, modify, update and retrieve data in computer applications.Ensure data conformity with recognized procedures and protocols, including accuracy of trace information.Conduct Trace Analysis of documented trends.Facilitate the restoration of obliterated serial numbers and ensure that those firearms are tracedAnalyze e-Trace data for firearms traffickingPosition Qualifications:U.S. CitizenValid U.S. Driver's LicenseB.S. Degree from accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of formal education, work experience and on the job training.Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years general experience with local, State, or Federal law enforcement, although more than three years of experience is preferred but not required.Must pass a pre-employment background check which includes: credit criminal and DMVMust be clearable; able to successfully complete the ATF clearance processMust be willing to provide a DNA sample as part of employment screeningAbility to work with and coordinate the efforts of local, State, and Federal law enforcementAbility to analyze, summarize, report, and share information.Working knowledge of Windows-based computer applications and software.Must successfully pass the competency testing for acquisitions and correlations review after being trained to perform image and correlation reviews on NIBIN equipmentOccasional travelAmentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
