Description

　　Mahaska Communications Group (https://www.mahaska.org/) (MCG) is hiring a Telecom Installation Tech to provide customers with installation and training of all systems related to MCG products and services. MCG offers cable, internet, and phone services to several communities in southern Iowa. Wage is competitive, benefits are exceptional, and each team member has the opportunity to receive a profit sharing contribution of up to 20% of their annual base pay each year.

　　Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

　　Plan routes and install service drops outside structures such as (but not limited to) Cat-5e, Coax, and Fiber.

　　Plan routes and install cabling inside structures such as (but not limited to) Cat-5e, Coax, and Fiber.

　　Activation of MCG Fiber to the Home (FTTH), Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), and other technologies to provide traditional and advanced services. These services include (but not limited to) phone, high-speed data, and television within residential or business facilities.

　　Troubleshooting, Testing, and Repair of the MCG network including fiber plant and customer premise equipment.

　　Train customers on the use of installed equipment and services.

　　Help customers with technical issues after Activation.

　　Work on various assigned project tasks.

　　Other duties as assigned.

　　Job Specifications:

　　Bilingual is a plus.

　　Knowledge of basic computing.

　　Knowledge of basic home construction and wiring is a plus.

　　Strong oral and written communication skills.

　　Strong organizational skills.

　　Ability to work with non-technical team members and customers.

　　Ability to follow established standards on work quality and safety.

　　Self-motivated and ability to work well with minimal supervision.

　　Ability to work occasionally at heights up to 40’.

　　Valid Iowa Drivers License – driving to and from work site required.

　　Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast paced environment.

　　Education & Experience Requirements:

　　Formal education or experience in Telecommunication is preferred but not required.Other Special Requirements:

　　Occasionally work outside of normal business hours.
