The Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer.SCOPE OF POSITION:The Christmas Driver ensures that kettles, kettle stands, bells and other bell-ringing equipment are supplied to each location and are available to make other pick-ups and deliveries related to Christmas activities.General Duties and Responsibilities:Ensures vehicle is properly gassed at the start of each shift.Clean and repair kettles and kettle stands, bells and signs to ensure they are clean and in good condition before delivering to stores.Check aprons and bells to ensure they are all in good condition before distribution to bell ringers.Use Salvation Army vehicle to drop off kettle stands and stools before beginning of Kettle Season and picks up all kettle stands, stools and other bell ringing supplies at the end of the season.Ensures that all bell ringers have a fresh kettle, kettle slip, apron, bell and other materials.Regularly checks bell ringing locations to be sure bell ringers show up for their shifts.Picks up kettles at the end of bell ringing shifts (times may vary).Keeps Kettle Coordinator informed of unmanned locations and changes in bell ringing schedule as they occur.Is available to pick up other Christmas-related items including, but not limited to, toys from collection locations.Picks up, inventories, and helps store all kettle-related items at end of season.Other duties as assigned.Education and Work Experience:High school Diploma or equivalentSkills:Must have current and valid Driver's LicenseAbility to pass background check and complete Decision Driver Training (Online)Ability to read or learn how to read Microsoft spreadsheetsSelf-motivatedTeam PlayerAttention to detailAbility and willingness to keep information confidentialAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise under pressurePhysical Requirements:Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist on an intermittent or continuous basisAbility to drive a Salvation Army vehicle with automatic transmissionAbility to grasp, push and pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawersAbility to reach overheadAbility to lift up to 25 pounds (usually file boxes)Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
