Description:
The chemist will be responsible for performing quality control (QC) testing in an analytical chemistry lab. The position has responsibility for executing test methods, including sample preparation, instrumentation setup and performance checks, sample analysis, data processing, and reporting. The position will also support research and development testing in related techniques. The role functions as part of an analytical chemistry team that works under ISO17025 requirements in the medical device field.
Position Responsibilities
Execute validated test methods across a range of Analytical techniques
Setup and execute instrument performance checks
Document testing and data analysis results in an electronic lab notebook and laboratory information management system
Support investigations into aberrant test results
Test R&D samples based on plans or consolation with senior lab personnel
Establish, communicate and execute to timelines for test completion as part of the Analytical lab team to achieve business targets
Author and review laboratory processes
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in chemistry, biology, material science, or related technical discipline
Minimum of 2 years work experience performing analytical testing
General Analytical chemistry laboratory techniques with a preference for experience in: Ion Chromatography, Infrared Spectroscopy, Physical Property Measurements, Moisture Analysis, Particle Size, Surface Area, etc.
Experience and understanding of cGMP, ISO17025, FDA and ICH requirements
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Ability to prioritize and execute on daily tasks
Ability to work and be effective with minimal supervision
Use of Microsoft Word & Excel
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
Successful candidate will have experience in a dynamic team environment, experience with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software, Electronic Lab Notebooks, experience working in and documenting experiments in a high regulated environment, and knowledge of technical concepts and principals underlying Organic and Inorganic analytical chemistry techniques.
