The Utility Design Engineer must have a Bachelor's degree and have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam. Required Skills & Qualifications:
B.S. in an appropriate field of study from an accredited college
Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
Technical background in water distribution and sanitary sewer collection design
Essential Job Functions:
Performs engineering design, coordination with design staff on plan production, and construction administration on projects
Effectively communicates and coordinates with the Team Lead and/or Project Manager
Performs design computations by hand and by computer software
Prepares quantity take-offs for use in construction cost estimates and engineering fee estimates
Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments
Make formal presentations to organizations, private industry, and government agencies
Reviews project submittals for compliance with design checklists and drafting standards
