OVERVIEWUES, an Eqlipse Company has an opportunity available for a [Biomedical Scientist ]{target="_blank"}to join our team working with the 711th Human Performance Wing at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. This position will support research to further understand how flight conditions impact physiology and cognition. More specifically, this role will support projects that use multiple sensing technologies on human subjects to provide critical insights as to the impacts of flight on human performance. This scientist/engineer will also support other related projects pertaining to physiology and kinematics.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work as an individual contributor within a team environment, a proven track record of accountability, a desire to work with large complex datasets, and an interest in physiology and kinematics.
WHAT YOU WILL DOInstalling, operating, and maintaining analytical equipment and real-time sensorsAnalyzing and interpreting both experimental and computational dataReporting results at group meetings and in written reportsSynchronizing multiple data streams from a variety of physiological sensorsDrafting of applicable portions of reports as instructed by project leadsWHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL BRINGBachelor's Degree and 2 to 4 years experience, or a Master's Degree and 0-2 years experience
This position is working within a government facility and requires U.S. CitizenshipB.S. or M.S. in biostatistics, biomedical engineering, bioengineering, mechanical engineering, or related disciplines.Experience working with and troubleshooting scientific/medical instrumentation.Competency in coding open-source statistical software (python, R, etc.).Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets to perform statistical inference and illustrate results.Willingness to work early mornings (as early as 6 AM) as needed to support human subject testing and team goals.Superlative communication skills for communicating data both within the team and to external stakeholders.*Preferred: *An academic understanding of human physiology through classwork or extracurricular activities/interests.CLEARANCENone
