ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Install, service and support, material handling automation equipment including dimensioning and weighing systems, automatic barcode scanners, automatic label print and apply systems, conveying equipment, and automation controls at a level which satisfies the high-quality standards of Cubiscan and our customers
• Provide in-person, computer based, and telephonic support to other company technicians
• Provide in-person, computer based, and telephonic support to customers
• Provide customers service/repair quotations
• Perform upgrades and updates of Cubiscan products
• Plan and ship Cubiscan products as needed or assigned
• Accurately and timely complete all required paperwork
• Troubleshoot complex issues
• Replaces or directs the replacement of faulty parts and/or wiring of the unit and retests the system or systems as necessary.
• Responds to requests for emergency or troublesome equipment repairs in addition to installation and service.
• Must have a strong aptitude for electro-mechanical systems and troubleshooting
• Must be able to operate independently or as a member of a team
• Become trained and proficient at installing and troubleshooting laser and camera-based products and supporting mechanical structures, especially dimension scanning and automatic barcode scanning products used in supply chain, transportation, and distribution applications.
• System commissioning to project specifications
• This position will require on-site work at customer sites, equating to at least 50% +/- travel outside of Utah for up to 5 days at a time.
• Occasional weekend travel/work may apply
• Responsible to track and report all reimbursable and billable expenses
• Non-travel responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
o Project component assembly/testing
o Master control box production/wiring
o Project documentation
o Customer service and support
• All specific training and required tools will be supplied by Cubiscan
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 1 year certificate from an accredited automation or electronics technology program or two years of equivelent experienceBasic PLC training preferredPLC installation/programming preferred.Basic electronics training requiredAbility to use oscilloscope, meters and other electronic equipmentBasic soldering skills requiredRequires strong mechanical aptitudeBasic electrical wiring skills requiredMust be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedlyMust be able to work above the level of the head frequentlyMust be able to stand, bend, kneel, squat, and other motions frequently for long periods of timeMust have color vision to identify cables and wiresMust demonstrate the ability to comprehend schematics, logic drawings, wire lists and mechanical prints in the interviewModerate computer skills required to configure and troubleshoot automation systemsModerate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for job related reportsAbility to perform multiple tasks while keeping organized, focusing on priorities and being productiveStrong communication skillsDependable, adaptable, and teachableSelf-motivated, positive attitude, good interpersonal skills, ability to work independently after trainingProfessional appearance and personal grooming standardsProfessional conduct and ability to communicate clearly with other technicians and engineersNo specific US security clearance is required.
