The Application Lead ensures build integration and integrity of the complete suite of Epic applications and provides oversight of the process of integrating workflow touch points across the enterprise with emphasis on integrated areas. Focused on enterprise workflows, this resource is able to develop working relationships with key stakeholders, such as operational leaders, project members, physicians, and Epic leaders. Prior build and leadership experience with Epic implementations is a requirement. This position requires Epic certification across multiple IT&S Towers.
Job-Specific Requirements/Responsibilities
The Application Lead is the primary Ambulatory support for integrated projects that include multiple Application Teams. In addition to the duties discussed in the Role Description, the Integrated Application Lead is responsible for the following:
1) Executing Application Design and Build:
-Identifies areas of integration and facilitates discussions, discovery, analysis, strategy and coordination of efforts
-Works with Epic, RWJBH leadership, and advisory committees to facilitate key decisions and actions
-Provides best practices to maintain momentum of integrated workgroups by providing recommendations on data gathering, analysis, decision making, and build
-Utilizes Galaxy as resource for best practice builds and solutions
-Works with minimal supervision
-Acts as a resource for Application Teams
2) Application Support:
-Helps direct project team with eye focused toward the future
-Guides and coordinates project team efforts
-Identifies application intersection points and guides teams in build to support fully seamless and integrated process
-Supports build teams in managing task, activity and phases of work
-Identifies opportunities to utilize Epic resources effectively to remove risks and keep integrated areas on target
-Supports build teams in managing task, activity and phases of work efficiently
-Leads Integrated Area Workgroups
-Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter
-Supporting continuous documentation of system modifications and updates
-Handles complex issues
-Takes initiative to problem solve within job scope
-Keeps knowledge of industry trends, application enhancement and future impact to enterprise
3) Documentation and Communication:
-Supports identification and development of risk documentation and other data gathering activities
-Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with our Organizational Values.
-Provides monitoring and project structure controls to accurately report status of implementation
-Through project plan and workgroup build activity oversight, assures quick escalation of build decision incompatibilities and risks
-Supporting application governance needs, including development of business case for decisions
-Maintaining version control of workflows, issues/risks log, and decisions tracker
-Communicating with leaders to determine necessary escalations
-Excellent presentation skills
4) Project Management:
-Provides recommendations based on Epic Foundational system
-Plans Project and workgroup build activity oversight, assures quick escalation of build decision incompatibilities and risks
-Develops future state materials
-Collaborates with team members across the department as well as operational staff
