The on-device machine learning performance team in the machine learning platforms and technologies group is looking for an outstanding manager to join our group! You will be leading engineers who develop products, tools, and services passionate about the measurement and analysis of machine learning performance. Our group plays a key role in supporting numerous ML-powered experiences at Apple. We are looking for a leader with extraordinary interpersonal skills who can work closely with silicon, hardware, and software engineering partners to help drive and craft Apple's product roadmap. Understanding of web service technologies is highly desired. Familiarity with the ML model development cycle is helpful, as is understanding performance in the context of ML workloads.

Description
You'll be leading a team of engineers who build and maintain a web-based service for performance and power introspection into ML workloads on Apple devices. You'll work with a wide variety of cross-functional partners ranging up and down the SW stack as you push the state-of-the-art in terms of exposing the details of ML inference execution and allowing ML authors to reason about how to get the best performance out of Apple Silicon. Because this service is already central to performance studies at Apple, you'll be able to engage with and drive additional efforts related to 3rd party performance tuning and internal tiger team efforts. You will also be at the center of efforts to catalog, curate, and supervise comprehensive sets of model architectures, their performance, and customer impact to help guide future ML hardware and software investments.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $174,000 and $301,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
