SciTech Services, Inc. (SciTech) is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Specialist to perform daily accounting tasks in support of our Accounting and Operation teams. The Accounting Specialist will be primarily responsible for project set up, reporting, billing, and accounts receivable.
Job Duties:
Coordinate with Managers to assess and implement cost tracking to satisfy project requirements.Setup and maintain project master files in Costpoint including new contracts, delivery orders, and task modifications for changes in funding levels and period of performance.Responsible for all project billing to ensure all cost is billed timely and accurately for all contract types according to specific contracts requirements.Provide Managers with timely and accurate mid-month and end-of-month project status reports showing current month, year-to-date and contract-to-date expenditures for each task.Assist PMs with monthly financial reports.Communicate contract issues to Managers.Respond to PM and Government inquiries.Identify and facilitate any required corrections.Review relevant sections of contracts, subcontracts, and modifications before full execution.Receive, review, deposit, record, and post cash receipts (paper and electronic) daily.Maintain all cash accounts and apply deposits to proper receivable accounts.Track and monitor invoice payment status, analyze AR aging report, contact customers for past due payments when needed, and keep Managers informed of cash flow activity.Maintain all journals and files related to billing and accounts receivable to always be audit ready.Work collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external customers.Review all work for accuracy and compliance.Assist in year-end planning, financial reviews, and audits.Cross-train and serve as backup in Accounts Payable and Payroll.Assist Accounting team as needed.Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in business, finance, accounting, or related discipline preferred.
Minimum 3 years working experience in accounting with a DCAA compliant accounting system.
Experience using Deltek Costpoint Accounting and Project modules.
Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
Proficient in Windows Office applications, specifically Excel and Word.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently with minimal direction and collaboratively as a team member.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external customers.
