Description
Robert Half is collaborating with a renowned construction company, assisting in the search for a Junior Accountant. With over 31 years of expertise in the construction industry, this company is dedicated to providing real opportunities for career growth and development.
Primary Responsibilities
Prepare bank reconciliations.
Record general ledger entries accurately.
Handle daily cash deposits and ensure timely application of payments to customer accounts.
Maintain records for monthly sales and use tax reporting.
Manage monthly lease schedules.
Oversee the fixed assets accounting system, including adding new assets and disposing of old ones.
Prepare customer/client billings as required.
Analyze and maintain monthly general ledger reconciliations, identifying issues and processing corrections.
Execute monthly/quarterly allocation of overhead costs.
Manage the paperless invoice routing and approval system.
Cross-train with team members to act as backup for key accounting duties.
Prepare or assist in preparing various monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Research, interpret, and apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for accurate accounting records and monthly financial statements.
Assist with the annual audit as directed.
Contribute to streamlining internal and business reporting processes.
Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls.
Support Finance and Accounting team with other activities, projects, and analyses as needed.
Requirements
Currently pursuing or obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant work experience.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work efficiently, and meet deadlines.
High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
Knowledge of computer spreadsheet and financial systems, programs, and applications.
Excellent ability to analyze financial data, identify inconsistencies, and propose solutions.
