Workforce Centers assistemployers with labor exchange functions and assist job seekers with jobsearches and upskilling. This position will be working in the communitywith businesses and travel will be frequent in Sedgwick County with theoccasional travel to other parts of the state.

The Workforce Professional for the Senior Community Service EmploymentProgram is responsible for assisting Workforce Center customers 55 yearsof age and older in identifying the most appropriate tools and resourcesavailable within the local workforce development system that matchcustomers employment related needs; Workforce Center customers includeemployers and job seekers. For employers, the Workforce Professionalwill assist in recruiting skilled workers and finding employment andtraining solutions to their business challenges. For job seekers, theWorkforce Professional will assist in developing appropriate plans ofaction to lead to completion of educational/training activities andobtaining/retaining employment. The Workforce Professional will workwith the partner agencies operating in the Local Area IV WorkforceCenters to accomplish a seamless and integrated service delivery model.The Workforce Professional will be required to travel to correctionalfacilities in Kansas and provide services to soon to be releasedoffenders.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A Workforce Professional on the Case Management Training Team willprovide job seeker services as outline below:
Provide job seekers with a professional, warm, and inviting welcome
Assist other Workforce Center Teams with high volume actives includingcheck in, workshops, job fairs, and drop in customer flow
Coordinate SCSEP participants\' host agency training
Assist with SCSEP participants\' payroll
Develop and maintain training plans for participants
Assess job seekers skills and abilities and provide career guidance
Provide job seekers with labor market information and counsel them ondemand occupations
Assist job seekers with program registration(s)
Conduct program eligibility
Assist job seekers with resume development
Refer job seekers to appropriate job openings
Enroll/Refer job seekers in the many different services provided at theWorkforce Centers
Provide job seekers with referrals to other partners and communityagencies
Refer job seekers to the services available at the Workforce Centers andthroughout the community
MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Baccalaureate degree or applicable Workforce Development Experience
Experience in case management
Proficient in Microsoft Office programsWord, Excel, PowerPoint,Publisher
Proficient in electronic record keeping and maintenance
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships withmanagement, co-workers, partners, and the general public.
Punctual and maintain regular on time attendance
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of workforce development programs and activities

Salary range \$17.50-23.00 an hour
