  Overview:

  The Workforce IAM Governance Technical Engineer II will serve as technologist for the WIAM team. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective management of user access rights, support the modernization of IAM, and perform as a team member providing expertise and input into WIAM projects. This position requires an understanding of IAM, the ability to work with various teams, and manage multiple workstreams at once. This role functions with a moderate level of autonomy, leveraging team peer connections and support from more senior members of the WIAM team.

  Primary Responsibilities:

  Define and maintain Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) models, mapping roles and responsibilities to access privileges, and ensuring segregation of duties (SoD) and least privilege principles are enforced.

  Create, execute, and oversee centralized access recertification.

  Establish processes for RBAC user provisioning, de-provisioning, and modification of access rights across applications, ensuring timely and accurate access management.

  Initiate, create, and document procedures and process flows for RBAC access management tasks to serve as a reference source.

  Leverage existing tools to help automate processes and make systems more efficient, manageable, available, and secure.

  Adhere to applicable operational risk controls in accordance with published standards and policies.

  Complete other related duties as assigned.

  Education and Experience Required:

  Combined minimum of 5 years’ higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management and/or architecture

  Education and Experience Preferred:

  Bachelor’s degree in technology-related field

  Background in Identity and Access Management or Cybersecurity

  Excellent documentation skills

  Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in work deliverables.

  Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

  M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $79,157.68 - $131,929.47 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
