Wind Turbine Tower Climber
Role Summary/Purpose
The Tower Climber will act as on-site lead (foreman) for maintenance of wind energy assets including all tower, wiring, and generation components.
Essential ResponsibilitiesAs Tower Climber, you will be responsible for performing all job-site related duties in a timely, efficient, and most importantly, safe manner. Tasks related to the maintenance and installation of wind energy assets may include:-Adherence to all safety protocols and procedures including OSHA and Storke, LLC policies.-Required to work at heights installing equipment/materials on towers, monopoles, etc. including mounts, turbines, etc.-Efficient and timely work on site.-Appropriate conduct for customer relations.-Adequate knowledge of current government-related incentives to drive sales and develop new projects, including any NYSERDA, USDA, or IRA funding.-Reporting to Supervisor(s) any gear-related issues including proper tool management and care.-Bringing adequate clothing for any and all weather conditions.-A willingness to travel when and where required.-Interpretation of various documents (e.g., blueprints, diagrams, manufacturer specifications, etc.) to ensure proper installation of systems using technical expertise.-Communicating with manufacturer experts to relay information and ascertain proper installation techniques.
Qualifications/Requirements/Desired Characteristics-Exceptional communication skills-Data-keeping and note taking-Ability to work remotely and independently. Be a self-starter-Ability to travel-Ability to communicate articulately with customers and subject-matter experts-Completion of certified Tower Climbing course-Completion of OSHA 30 hour online course-Ability to complete detailed forms and reports-Physically able to climb 1000 vertical feet per day-Ability to perform tower rescues-Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly-Ability to operate heavy machinery
Additional Eligibility RequirementStorke, LLC will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
Storke, LLC Vehicle Policy
The Storke, LLC company vehicle policy gives employees guidelines for obtaining,qualifying for, and using a company vehicle. A "company vehicle" is any vehicleowned by Storke, LLC and assigned to an employee(s). This policy applies to allemployees who use a company vehicle, and applies during and outside of workinghours.
Qualifying for a company vehicle.To be eligible to use a company vehicle, employees must first sign and submit a copyof the vehicle policy as well as a copy of their driver's license. Employees are onlyallowed to drive a company car if they have a valid driver's license and a cleandriving record for at least 3 years.
