Basic Job Functions:

Responsibilities for the Welder include but are not limited to:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety practices, policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Welding steel structural parts as specified per drawing or print.

Operating grinder to prepare and finish welds.

Operating flip rite.

Operating transfers.

Operating magnetic drill.

Full visual inspection of part ensuring all welds are in place and properly applied.

Effectively communicating with upstream and downstream to address safety, quality, and efficiency issues/concerns.

Minimum Qualifications:

WQ1 (2G) weld certification

Preferred Qualifications:

Can read and understand weld symbols

Can use an arc gouger

Previous crane certification

Previous experience in material handling
