What Your Day-to-Day ActivitiesWill Be Must train and pass A.S.M.E. processes for MIG and TIG, both ACand DC, and to the 6G level for AC. The 6G and DC processes will beperformed on an infrequent basis. Must weld to x-ray quality at alltimes and when required, pass x-ray and dye penetrant check of welds.Assembles and welds various size headers and related sub-assemblies. Mayweld with other processes and varied weldments and metals as warranted.Works from drawings and specifications. Must identify material andmarkings to ensure proper piece parts and identification codes arepresent. Identify and use proper Work Instructions and other relatedspecifications. Must check parts prior to assembly to determine if,after assembly and welding, parts will be within tolerance. May reworkpiece parts prior to assembly to meet drawing specifications andtolerances. Responsible for quality of weld joint and properidentification of the weld. Repair weld defects on headers and relatedsub-assemblies using proper repair procedures. Set up welding machines,check to see if the machine is operating properly, and set controls forproper welding conditions. Perform minor maintenance on all weldingmachines such as change torch, foot pedal, fuses, load and adjust MIGwire feeder, and check coolant reservoirs daily. Set up and operateportable plasma cutter. Preheat preparation prior to welding perinstructions. Pre-bow assemblies as required. Required to operatestraightening press to obtain specified tolerances on finished assembly.Your Education Should Be Must have a certificate/degree in welding froma certified technical college or 12 months of professional weldingexperience.
