  Description

  JOB DESCRIPTION:

  Independently uses a specialized knowledge of, and experience, with public health principles to analyze, develop, implement, and promote solutions to public health issues/problems. Collects and analyzes data.

  Prepares proposals, protocols, data analysis plans, reports, manuscripts, and presentation of study findings.

  Addresses public health issues by providing education, technical assistance, advocacy, public awareness, and research.

  Works with programs or studies designed to evaluate the prevalence or surveillance of public health issues and the effectiveness of targeted interventions.

  May coordinate clinical study sites to ensure compliance with patient recruitment and data collection standards. May provide technical assistance to organizations to include presentations, websites, strategies, and educational forums to address specific public health issues.

  May design, develop, and conduct targeted training initiatives. May collaborate with external organizations to develop action plans and goals to achieve specific objectives. Identifies new potential projects, studies or partners. Performs related responsibilities as required.

  In addition to the job description above, performs outreach and recruitment to maintain the longitudinal ECHO cohort.

  Collects and analyzes participant data including both through remote collection (via telephone and zoom interaction with participants and/or electronic data capture) and in-person encounters through both participant visits to the child study laboratory and pick ups and drop offs at participant homes as necessary.

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  A master's degree in Public Health, a master of science degree in Public Health or Health Education, or a master's degree in Development Practice and three years of relevant applied public health experience OR a master's degree in another field and four years of public health experiencePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  Experience working with maternal and child health populations

  Experience using electronic data capture systems, such as REDCap

  Experience and familiarity with administering child developmental assessments

  Availability to consistently work on-site at Emory’s main campus Child Study Center Laboratory

  Reliable transportation to perform pick-ups and drop-offs of research materials to and from participant homes and the Child Study Center Laboratory.

  NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
