This position is open to on-the-job training (OJT) program through theWalsenburg Workforce Center.
THE CITY OF WALSENBURG is accepting applications for the full-time (40 hourper week) Water/Sewer Technician I.
Starting wage is $15.50 per hour or depending on experience plus Medical,Dental and Vision Benefits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS for Sewer: Operates Jet/rodding truck; maintains andcleans city sewer collection system main lines; opens clogged sewer linesusing various pipe cleaning equipment; performs line cleaning andflushing; operates and maintains heavy line-cleaning equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS for Water: Repairs water lines; performs routinemaintenance on city equipment; performs live taps on water lines; performsmeter installations and services. Assists in routine checks of pumps, waterlines; participates in general projects, operates heavy equipment usedinstalling and maintaining lines; maintains pumps, automatic valves;helps maintain maintenance records of all equipment, lines and systems;ensures adequate water supply. Must possess a Colorado Driver's License andget certification for water/sewer within 18 months of hire.
