Description
This position is responsible for operating and monitoring water treatment facilities in accordance with the Florida rules, regulations and statutes. This position insures proper plant compliance via various process control tests.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operate and monitor water treatment facilities in accordance with the Florida rules, regulations, and statutes.
Insure proper plant compliance via various process control tests.
Water analysis on all stages of treatment. Monitor and control entire distribution system pressures and levels.
Inspect chemical deliveries and unlock appropriate tank fill valve.

Adjust plant equipment for compliance.
Education, Experience, Licensing
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to High School graduation or GED equivalent and one-year water treatment or closely related experience.
Possession of a Florida-issued Water Treatment Plant Operator Class "A", "B", or "C" license is required.
Operator "A" Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from High School and five years of related work experience.
Operator "B" Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from High School and three years of related work experience.
Operator "C" Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from High School and one year of related work experience.
Requires possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Supplemental Information
Knowledge of tools and equipment used for daily operations of treatment facility.
Knowledge of lab supplies.
Ability to perform necessary tests and analysis.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; verbally and in written form.
Knowledge of treatment facility regulations and specifications.
This position requires a rotational shift to cover 24/7 operations.
Shifts are 40 hours per week and can include nights, weekends, and holidays.
