Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated forklift driver to join our expanding company located in Ottawa. The successful candidate will have prior warehouse experience, including proficiency in operating propane or battery forklifts and using RF scanners for inventory control. Excellent communication skills in both French and English are essential for this position. As a Warehouse Worker, you will be responsible for receiving and distributing HVAC parts for clients and individual customers, preparing orders, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse. This is a long-term contract to hire role with growth opportunities within the company.
Responsibilities:
Receive order slips and requests through printed order slips.
Utilize a handheld scanner and Warehouse Management System (WMS) to locate and retrieve various HVAC parts throughout the warehouse.
Prepare orders for distribution, including loading them onto trucks or bringing them to the front for customer pickups.
Receive incoming products from trucks and perform general tidying and organizing of the warehouse.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure efficiency and accuracy in maintaining inventory control.
Operate propane or battery forklifts safely and effectively for moving and lifting heavy items as required.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills in both French and English to coordinate with team members and customers effectively.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of warehouse experience.
Minimum of 1 year of propane or battery forklift experience.
Minimum of 1 year of RF scanner and inventory experience.
Bilingual in French and English, both written and verbal.
Ability to lift approximately 40 lbs individually or 100 lbs with assistance.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in inventory control.
Familiarity with HVAC parts, such as air conditioners and furnaces, is an asset.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Safety-conscious with knowledge of warehouse safety protocols.
Collaborative and team-oriented mindset with a willingness to assist team members.
Flexible and adaptable to meet changing demands and priorities.
Experience with inventory control, RF scanner usage, and warehouse operations is preferred.
