These orders will be loaded onto truck trailer with elongated skids by means of forklift. Associates must be flexible to ever changing priorities to accommodate customer demands and are expected to work in a safe, productive and cooperative manner in accordance with Ply Gem policies and procedures.Complete all tasks as assigned by Distribution department leadershipRead, understand, and follow the steps outlined in SOPs for each task being performedTake prompt corrective action to eliminate safety hazards and minimize downtimeComplete required documentation in a complete, legible, and accurate mannerPerform any daily PM or check sheets as needed on motorized equipment as outlined in procedures/policiesChange batteries and/or gas tanks on motorized equipmentReport maintenance needs to appropriate personnelKeep equipment clean and free of debrisOrganize and maintain all work areas in a neat and orderly fashionEncourage accountability with peers and others to ensure quality of performance which will support inventory accuracy and eliminate shipping variancesProperly manage all wastes generated, including segregation of recyclable materials, and segregation of hazardous wastes by typeTake steps to minimize the amount of waste generatedFacilitate transfer of production/ordering signals through use of Kanban, delay cards, and delay summary reportsQualificationsPrior experience as qualified forklift operator required, shipping and receiving experience a plusPrior experience in preparing shipping labels and maintaining documentsProven work history in demonstrating a systematic approach in carrying out work assignmentsMust be able to read, write and be able to perform basic math skills as job duties requireMust have good eye/hand coordination, excellent manual dexterity including a skill to use hand and electrical tools, and an ability to read and comprehend numbersAbility to lift up to 100pounds continuously above shoulder height and below waist heightMust be detailed oriented, possess good communication skills, and interact well with othersMust be able to separate product by profiling colorWork in warehouse environment with exposure to equipment noise, temperature extremes, and dustPosition requires continual lifting, twisting, and bendingMust be proficient in the use of a claw hammer, pneumatic nail gun, pneumatic bander, and an electric skill saw.
