**ABOUT ALABAMA INDUSTRIES FOR THE BLINDThe Alabama Industries for the Blind (AIB) is one component of the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB), which is the worlds most comprehensive education, rehabilitation and service program serving individuals of all ages who are Deaf, Blind, DeafBlind, multidisabled and their families.Founded in 1929, AIB is the states largest employer of persons who are blind or have significant disabilities. Mattie Smiths passion was to provide remunerative employment for women who were blind. Starting AIB meagerly with five donated sewing machines and five seamstresses, which would sew items for homemakers, AIB, experienced many products for the US Government, State and commercial customers including a contract to produce long neckties for each service branch. AIB has 315 employees manufacturing facility in Talladega, AL and facility in Birmingham, AL. AIB also operates five Base Supply Centers in two states, which are located on Redstone Arsenal, Fort Novosel, Anniston Army Depot, Robins Air Force Base and Moody Air Force Base.Partnerships help us reach farther and influence more people. Through long-standing partnerships with organizations such as National Industries for the Blind and the AbilityOne Program, we connect people who are blind or visually impaired with government service contracts nationwide, providing companies with skilled workers and advancing opportunities for visually impaired individuals. Partnerships also make possible the production of more than 3,000 SKILCRAFT products including cleaning and janitorial, mattress and bedding, medical supplies and equipment, office products and equipment, paints and tools, and writing instruments.

**ABOUT THE ROLEThe Warehouse Clerk/Delivery Driver role will be responsible for the operation of our Alabama Industries for the Blind (AIB) Warehouse at the Talladega Manufacturing Plant. This position reports to the Supervisor, Warehouse Department.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS******
High School Diploma or High School Equivalency CertificateMust possess a valid Alabama Drivers License.Must be able to be insured by AIDB insurance carrier by maintaining a good driving record.Must possess a good driving record with no record of DUI. Driving record will be checked for the previous five years.Must complete pre-employment drug screening to be eligible to drive an AIDB state vehicle.```{=html}
```- Must be able to drive truck from 1 tons capacity to 4 tons capacity with up to six-wheel drive.- Must be physically capable of lifting, moving, carrying, and handling numerous boxes weighing up to 60 pounds on a regular basis.

```- Must possess computer skills in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, and Sheets.- Must be able to follow written and verbal directions, read maps, and follow GPS as required to make on time deliveries to the customer.- Upon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB.
