Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
Process shipping documents for customer orders and reconciling Bills of Ladings, schedule inbound and outbound shipments. Perform inventory functions monthly. Coordinate issues on orders with customer services. Assure accuracy on orders processed for shipment through verification.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Follow all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance. Perform duties in a safe manner and report all observed safety hazards to management. Act as a role model for Safety on the shift. Participate in safety programs by reporting Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts and Close Calls; enter Near Miss data and Observations into Global Data Center database (GDC)
Assist the Logistics Manager and Leads as needed
Generate bill of lading for all outbound freight
Receive incoming freight including stock transfers
Receive packaging
Process billing
Process export documents
Audit freight invoices and reconcile with outside audit service
Participates in monthly inventories for warehouse
Processes returns
Loads trucks as needed
Assist with Inventory as needed
Other tasks as assigned by Management, Supervisor or Lead
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
6 months of Transportation experience preferred
Ability to understand shipping/loading requirements, weight requirements, customs paperwork, inventory control and customers’ special instructions
Ability to become forklift certified
Ability to wear all required PPE (steel toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, and other PPE as required)
Ability to read and understand work orders
Computer and Microsoft literate
Ability to use office equipment
Bi-lingual English-Spanish highly preferred
Ability to communicate with employees, truck drivers and transportation schedulers
Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and in small group situations
Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration and percent
Reasoning skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form
