Your Role
In summary, this role is responsible for the site engineering ownership and management for complex operations, including those with hyperautomation systems. This role will have dotted-line control of site based industrial engineering (Production Systems) and automation engineering (Automation)
Your Responsibilities
Functions as the core leader of the site engineering team, reporting dotted-line to the Site Manager.
Directly responsible for the coordination of site industrial engineering as well as automation engineering projects – synchronizing the two functions for a singular output è efficient and productive operation
Direct oversight and participation with the National team to any automation deployments underway wherein the Automation Engineer is assigned.
Works directly with the Continuous Improvement team for any improvements relating or affecting the automation solution currently implemented, or needing to be implemented as the site functional owner.
Performs regular analysis of automation systems present on the assigned site to assess overall health and performance.
Works with local maintenance for the remediation of automation issues that arise, including coordinating with vendors whom provided components or the entirety of the automation on site.
Creates, delivers, and trains the site operations team on SOPs relating to the automation system.
Directly responsible for the day-to-day health of the automation present at the assigned site, including coordination with 3rd party vendors whom provided key MHE.
Responsible for producing any reporting for internal or external purposes relating to the automation system(s).
Your Skills and Experiences
Essentials:
BS degree in Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, and/or practical experience in the field of industrial engineering, automation, controls, or software engineering.
3+ years’ experience as a field, software, and/or controls engineer for automated warehouses involving conveyors, AMRs, AGVs, ASRS, etc.
2+ years’ experience with automated warehousesin a technical and managerial function (directly tied to the automation
Willingness to travel as needed for work.
Experience managing vendor deliverables for complex systems.
Familiarity and ability to thrive in a matrix organization.
Experience with the implementation of automated material handling and logistics systems.
Solid understanding of information systems and engineering theory.
Solid understanding of the project life cycle for automated material handling systems.
Sound application knowledge of automated material handling equipment such as AS/RS, pallet and case conveyors, sorters, AGV’s, monorails, etc.
Advanced analytical skills with Microsoft Excel and/or use of Minitab for the purposes of system diagnostics and continuous improvement.
Generally strongskills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Desirable
10+ years’ experience with automated warehouses in a technical and managerial function (directly tied to the automation)
PMP Certification
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
Experience being a front-facing representation for the customer as well as company representation for internal meetings as needed.
3PL contract logistics experience preferred.
CAD drawing software experience preferred.
Experience working with simulation technologies such as AutoMOD, Demo3D, Arena, Simul8, etc.
